The IPAF course (3a & 3b) is for anyone in an organisation that operates scissor lifts, static or self-powered telescopic and articulating booms, vertical platforms, vehicle or trailer mounted platforms and booms. This not only includes construction sites but all workplaces, such as schools, offices, theatres and factories both internally and externally.
Delegates will gain an awareness of the legal implications, common hazards, and precautions, together with the correct driving, operation, pre-use inspection, elevating, lowering, and emergency procedures for these commonly used MEWPs (Mobile Elevated Work Platforms).

Assessment
- There is a knowledge test at the end of the course.
- Practical Assessment.
Certification
- Upon successful completion of this course delegates will be issued with a powered access license smart card also known as a IPAF PAL (Powered Access License) card.
- PAL Cards are now issued digitally and accessed via ePAL, IPAF’s free mobile phone app.
- The IPAF (International Powered Access Federation) PAL card is accepted and recognised as proof of MEWP operator training throughout the world.
- Certification is valid for 5 years.

- PPE Requirements: Safety Helmet with Chin Strap, Gloves, Hi-Vis Vest/Jacket, Full Body Harness with Short/Adjustable Restraint Lanyard, Safety Footwear, Warm/Wet weather clothing as required.
