This CABWI accredited course is essential for operatives and supervisors, covering the relevant Health and Safety legislation as well as key skills in interpreting site plans and identifying hazards.
Course Content:
- Interpret information and plans showing the location of underground apparatus
- Identify utilities apparatus and highways services encountered during excavation
- Identify the hazards and risks associated with underground utilities apparatus and highways services
- Use pipe and cable location equipment
- Follow safe working practices
Assessment
- There is a knowledge test at the end of the course, with multiple-choice questions.
Certification
- Delegates successfully completing the Location and Avoidance of Underground Apparatus course will be awarded a CABWI Certificate and Street Works Qualifications Register (SWQR) ID card.
- Certification is valid for 5 years.
